Lola Almudevar

This website is in memory of Lola Almudevar. Lola died in a road accident in Bolivia on 25 November 2007, while she was working there as a journalist. This site has been set up by her family to bring together some of her life and work, and give family, friends and colleagues a chance to record their own memories of Lola.

Shortly before her last journey, Lola said to a friend, enthusing about her work and adventures in Bolivia, a country she had quickly grown to love, “I am having the time of my life!”

Este portal está dedicado a la memoria de Lola Almudevar. Lola murió en Bolivia, país en el que estaba trabajando como periodista, en un accidente de tránsito el 25 de noviembre del 2007. Este portal ha sido abierto por su familia para celebrar su vida y su obra, y para dar una oportunidad a sus familiares, amigos y colegas de registrar sus recuerdos de Lola. Ella estaba muy entusiasmada con su trabajo y sus aventuras en Bolivia, país que llego a amar rapidamente, y un poco antes de su último viaje Lola le confió a un/a amigo/a: “¡Estoy pasando la mejor época de mi vida!

A celebration of Lola’s life

A gathering to celebrate Lola and her life was held at the Custard Factory in Birmingham on 29 June 2008, the day after Lola’s 30th birthday. The event was very well attended and several hundred people came to remember Lola and to party as she would have herself. We hope to post some photos soon.

To post a message . . .

Once you have registered site admin will make you a contributor and email you. You will then be able to post your memories by clicking on the “Please register here to leave your message” link on the Memories of Lola page. Then click Login under the main blue box. Enter the Username and Password you were given. This will take you to the Dashboard page, where you can Write posts. Save your contribution and click Submit for Review. Site admin will check it and then publish it on the site. Don’t forget to say who you are and how you came to know Lola.

Después de registrarse la administración del portal le enviará un e mail y usted podrá enviar sus memorias pulsando sobre la conección “Please register here to leave your message” en la sección de la página “Memories of Lola”. A continuación pulse “Login” bajo el cuadro azul. Entre el Username y Password que se le ha dado lo que lo conducirá a la página “Dashboard”, allí usted podrá escribir y enviar su mensaje - use el cuadro a la derecha, bajo categories. Guarde su contribución y pulse “Submit for Review”. La administración del portal leerá y publicará su contribución en el portal.
